Ever since the first maxi of Olivier Raymond aka Oxia (originally a project with Stéphane ‘Human Body’ Deschezeaux) on Ozone records in 1995, he became a voice truly associated with French techno. Together with The Hacker and their Goodlife label (founded in 1998), the Grenoble boys are responsible for the second production wave of France.

’ies, Olivier and Stéphane run into each other sharing the same passion and discovering the first house releases. Early 9
’ies, first musical experiments revealing their funk / italo-disco / new-wave influences. It’s very soon after this that techno & acid reaches Europe. In 1993 Olivier becomes resident dj in Grenoble and a year later the world sees the birth of the live-act Oxia. 1995, Olivier & Stéphane create Ozone records together with Kiko. It’s on this label that Olivier co-produces the first releases of Jack de Marseille and also creates some ep’s together with Stéphane, before Olivier continues with Oxia as a solo project.
Personality and sound evolve together giving birth to a series of maxis & remixes on Goodlife but also on other prestigious labels (Monoid – Intec – Terminal - Missile - …) In 2
, the first connection with Scandium gets established with a remix for UltraColor.
The debut album release of Oxia ’24 Heures’ (2
4) marks a change in his musical route. Besides his known techno sound, Oxia now delivers electro and lots of depth in his work. This eclectism becomes more and more visible in his dj-sets and productions. A good example is the ‘Traces’ remix he did for The Hacker (released January 2
6), his release on Kompakt Extra / Speicher (March 2
6).
Six years after his first collaboration with Scandium, Oxia signs for the second episode of the ‘Picture of Now’ mix-cd series (first by the hand of Delon & Delcan). Oxia presents his playlist of the moment, a fine and to the point selection of electro house and atmospheric techno. With this mix, Oxia brings over his state of mind, a selection that can be listened on the dancefloor as good as any place.
