For us it is also one of the most special events of the year! In 5 succesful editions we have helped it to grow from a party to a show that can match any mega event in the world we know. We really have to give a lot of credit to United Music that they have had the vision to take Transmission beyond the ordinary standard for parties. They often amaze us with their demands for more visuals, more lasers, more fireworks, more show!
1. Hi guys, it is just after the summer so the first question will be, how was it? I guess there were lots of interesting and important events around that you were VJing on. Would you like to share some experiences with us?
Hi! Well, it has been a busy and fun year for us, full of nice projects and gigs!
Our tour around the globe with Sensation White is coming to an end… We toured most of Europe, Chile, Brazil and Australia…We had a blast doing that!
We were also proud to join the PURE events in the Czech republic as resident VJ's. Those parties have something special about them every time.
The festival season was beautiful, we performed at a hardstyle event called Decibel with a very nice stage setup. Another festival where we attended was Emporium with a stage in the shape of an Aztec mask. A great indoor event was InQontrol, where we veejayed on eye-shaped screens!
2. Did you get inspired by anything interesting during a summer or is there any foreign event you would recommend to czech clubbers?
The summer festival season in Holland is crazy…. There are dance festivals every weekend, and often there is more then one… Popular dance festivals are Dance Valley, Extrema, Pleasure Island, Decibel, Emporium and Mysteryland…
We would like to recommend the Lowlands festival. It is a massive festival and besides dance it also offers a lot of alternative bands and artists, but also theater and films… and it lasts for 3 days! If you can get hold of a ticket you should definitely go!
3. Is there any interesting project that you are preparing now or in a future? Or does anyone of you also work on some kind of solo project?
We are teaching young talented people the craft of veejaying for the second year in our little school called the VJ academy. We started this initiative together with the our colleagues from Sense studio's to stimulate a new generation of skilled veejays. We are teaching them everything we know about veejaying, take them to our gigs and help them develop their own set. It is really nice to see a new generation of enthusiastic visual artist develop.
4. And how is the cooperation after twelve years of being together in the team?
Our team is still a lot of fun! After all those years we still get along great. Thanks to the VJAcademy we are also expanding because some talented guys decided to join us and help us with production and gigs. It’s really nice to have some fresh blood in the team
5. Everybody just saw the new trailer for Transmmission that will be on 14th of November. Can you tell us something more about it? How did you get to the idea of creating the Ancient Mysteries theme?
Each year we try to come up with something completely different for Transmission. We make a couple of ideas and discuss them with United Music. This year we chose the theme of Ancient cultures.
This concept involves the 2012 Doomsday phenomenon; the prediction of the Mayas and Nostradamus that the world will end in 2012. Coincidently, a movie with the same theme comes out on the day after Transmission.
We were always interested by ancient cultures, and have been inspired by it in our work. We watch a lot of History- and Discovery Channel and read a lot of books about it. We are especially interested in mysteries and mythology, and put a lot of this in the Transmission theme for this year. This adds a fantasy element to it all and that makes it more interesting and gives us more freedom to make a nice story out of it.
6. Is there anything else that we can expect at the Transmission from you? Like some new VJ technologies etc?
There will be a special stage design for the event, that should be quite spectacular.
For our DJ-VJ show, we hope to bring the Pioneer DVJ-1000 turntables and the new SVM mixer, a DJ mixer that can mix both video and audio. These new cool gadgets can take the DJ-VJ show to another level.
7. Do you do more VJ shows or DJ-VJ shows that you started few years ago? What kind of music style do you play the most?
We like to do the DJ-VJ show more then we do now, so far we have done a couple of small parties in Holland, and a few big shows in Malaysia, Prague and soon another one in Malta.
It takes a lot of preparation to make a complete show. Its always a big puzzle trying to tell a visual and musical story at the same time. We just received the new Pioneer equipment and we hope that it will make for a more stable format that will make it easier to build DJ-VJ shows.
We like a lot of genres in electronic music, but mainly we like electro, tech-house, and trance. But there is good music in every possible genre, sometimes it is just hard to find it ;-)
8. What are your aims and goals in life? Do you have any dream that you would like to come true?
Well a lot of dreams have already come true for us, most of these dreams we couldn’t have wished for when we started Vision Impossible. We began as a VJ crew for club nights and ten years later we design video shows for huge events, are DJs, do artdirection and showdirecting and travel the world doing the greatest parties.
Still, if you don’t have any more goals you might as well quit… So we really would like to perform in Japan because Japanese have a special appreciation for video and animation. We also would like to create even bigger shows for international artists like Madonna or U2.
9. Is there anything that you would like to advice aspiring VJs?
Develop your own style, but also learn from what other veejays do. The world is your inspiration, don't let anything stop you from drawing idea's from it.
10. Thank you very much for your time. We are very excited and looking forward to what you prepared for november´s Transmission. It has been always a great experience to see your work on such a special event like this one.

We are very much looking forward to it and hope to see you there!
