After spectacular events in Italy and Holland, Time Warp fans now turn their
attention to Mannheim. One week was all it took before the limited Early Bird tickets
for the first Time Warp in 2012 were sold out. With the new year, the run on regular
tickets now begins. Little wonder: The lineup has many high-profile surprises in store
and there is an eagerness for experimentation in other areas.
The 31st of March is a highlight for techno fans from around the world. For the 17th time already, on this Saturday the clock will be ticking in time to fat bass drums and hissing hi-hats. A unique experience, a breathtaking combination of music, light and emotions – the spirit of Time Warp has changed little over the years. Since the mid-nineties, the techno event in Mannheim has been a main meeting point for the electronic music scene and has always proven to be a platform for new sounds and trends.
In 2012, the international audience can look forward not only to headliners of the caliber of Väth, Hawtin and Cox, but also to new discoveries from the last year. One of these is certainly the Visionquest crew based around the Berliner Seth Troxler. Jamie Jones also looks back on a successful year. Users of the British scene portal Resident Advisor voted him best DJ, and now he will make his Time Warp debut. With Kevin Saunderson and John Digweed, two pioneers of electronic dance music will join the line up. Nick Curly will not only perform tracks from his debut album "Between the Lines" at Time Warp. He will also be performing back2back with Mathias Kaden – an appearance that is hotly awaited by fans of driving tech house sets. AKA AKA feat. Thalstroem, Davide Squillace, Pan-Pot, Guti, Hobo – only five of more than 40 acts the audience will see during the marathon event.
Time Warp also takes an innovative stance in the field of production and stage technology, with an emphasis on cutting edge technologies. Besides elaborate light shows, the focus is primarily on the use of 3D technology. The audience was already impressed by the stunning 3D mapping at Time Warp Holland. In Mannheim, the production team will offer a completely new experience in this department.
The Time Warp team has already been successful while on the lookout for talented and innovative new visual artists, and is now working on the concept for the six floors. Visitors can look forward to a unique audiovisual experience this March. More than 40 acts, extraordinary lighting and stage concepts – packed into 19 hours non-stop – Time Warp in 2012 will again provide an intense party experience that is second to none.
